Because Liam is always right [Oct. 8th, 2008|01:14 pm]
"It's not nice when you look down and see your brother on the deck," he told Sky News before the show, referring to the assault on Noel. "If it was up to me, I'd have cut his [the attacker's] dick off and made him eat it."

Liam went on to say that the band had no plans to wind down following the release of their seventh album, 'Dig Out Your Soul', which came out on Monday (October 6).

"We'll carry on as long as we want to carry on," he said. "There's good music out there to be wrote and we're the ones to write it."

You know it's time to leave when THIS is the headline [Apr. 28th, 2008|01:21 pm]
Two men pass bad checks at Domino's; use Pizza Hut uniform to resell pizza by the slice

LAS CRUCES — Two men have been indicted for using forged checks to buy Domino's Pizza and then apparently using a Pizza Hut uniform to resell the pizzas for $5 a slice.

Adolfo Martinez, 33, and Mark Anderson, 26, both of Las Cruces, were indicted Thursday each on 11 counts of forgery and one count of conspiracy.

According to a criminal complaint, from March 26 through April 2, the men wrote a total of 11 checks to an unspecified Las Cruces location of Domino's.

On April 9, a Domino's employee called police to report that an individual that sounded like the person responsible for the bad checks had placed a telephone order for 15 large pizzas. The phone number used was the same number used for the previous orders.

The Domino's employee went to the delivery address and saw two men sitting in a car. He recognized the men as being the ones that placed the previous orders, the complaint states.

A Las Cruces police detective who questioned the men reported that Martinez admitted to writing the checks, which he acquired from Anderson.

A search of the vehicle yielded a Pizza Hut shirt along with a Pizza Hut bag and cups and napkins from Pizza Hut.

there is no one on earth i'm afraid of... [May. 31st, 2007|09:19 am]
last night, el paso county coliseum
liz, john, and i
we shared a moment with morrissey
he has been, and will always be
my one true god
concerts, especially at that volume
are striclty forbidden given the bleeding in the brain
but in this case i thought
i would rather die watching morrissey
than die pretty much anywhere else
so we went, had a good time, and then hit up the cabana
one of the finer moments of the year

liz and i had a conversation this morning
and i left feeling bad about myself
(because of the topic, not cos liz was calling me names)
and then i discovered this:

May 31, 2007
Capricorn (December 21 - January 19)

To understand the major shift taking place, dear Capricorn, you must look at events from a lofty perspective. A slow-acting liberation process is gathering momentum. You will be unable to refuse an opportunity to rid yourself of an oppressive part of your past. You'll shed your old complexes and emerge renewed. Laugh a little at the obstacles you two are facing. A sense of humor, when used appropriately, is the best tool for getting back on track.

and there you go
it said it all
and put me right back to where i should be

if you sit back
and just let life happen to you
so that you don't ever have to take responsibility for you situation
then you have gotten exactly what you have wanted
i have always believed that looking back on a life of regret is a great tragedy
it's much easier to apologize/pick up the pieces/throw up your hands in defeat
than it is to be too scared to try
and i admire those that do too

in this most pressing situation
i realized i chose quantity over quality
as i can often do
though laughter, like diet pepsi, is always best in huge quantities
and given my recent near-death experience
(i'm only referring to that in that way today
and only today)
my tolerance meter has reset itself to zero
and that's a very good thing
and to those that are taking chances and making themselves, and the world, better places
i say thank you and congratulations
and to the rest
i say fuck to you
and my main man, born may 22, 1959
making him officially, the sexiest near 50 year old i saw shirtless, just last night
i leave you with his poetry...

Others sang your life
But now is a chance to shine
And have the pleasure of
Saying what you mean
Have the pleasure of
Meaning what you sing
Oh, make no mistake my friend
All of this will end
So sing it now (sing your life)
All the things you love (sing your life)
All the things you loathe
Oh, sing your life
The things that you love
And the things you loathe (sing your life)
Oh, sing oh...
Oh, sing oh...

you're all my girlfriends... [May. 24th, 2007|09:13 am]
working away in my big new office
with a window
and a view
i feel like i have things to say
but i don't want to offend
but i do want to offend
but i shouldn't
so i won't
i will say i am tired
that shit is tiring
and i'm doing my best to let it go
and it gets easier
though i will never understand
how so many people
can waste so much time
i think they like it
and then they like to bitch about it
and i don't
so i won't
so i make my reservations
and i will have a good time
(assuming it goes the way I plan it to
it has to
i don't have time for the alternatives)
and i won't care
i will only care about what is important
tonight will be important
shawn's last night with my mom
my last night with brian
these are important moments
and i can't waste any time being hurt or upset
so i won't
and you won't notice
but i will feel the difference

when darkness turns to light, it ends tonight [Jun. 1st, 2006|10:23 am]
[Current Location |a little above paradise-literally]

laughing with sadie
on the pre-sunrise trip to the airport
the crazy clicking lady in line
alice and richard at the security check
the 4 hour phx delay
enjoyed with marlboros and fosters
the just back from iraq soilder
who couldn't stop his tai chi
not even for turbulence
the trip down the sac escalator
jay picking me up in his hug
his summons of the expedition
wayne driving us all over sac, oroville, yuba city
picking up the land cruiser
sitting in the boat in the backyard waiting for the surprise
poker at the loud peoples house
my first pleasant experience with sierra nevada
the trees, the rain, wayne and jay on
mallory, one foot shorter than me
triton and logan fighting over where to sit
the trip for coffee
gassing up the hummer
the party in the yard
hugging old friends
walking right back into conversations like only weeks had passed
the trip up the mountain in the land cruiser
the trip up and then down the mountain in the jeep
neither containing a moment of fear
when a flip down the mountain was possible at every moment
that moment when i could have made it happen
my hesitation getting the best of me
that fear that i just don't understand
the early morning breakfasts with jay and wayne
the waitress at country waffle giving me those looks
the letters from prison
the trips through chico
the days at the office
working on the computer for wayne
signing paperwork for jay
over the hedge with the kids
"jesjes watch me!"

i remember it all now
what it means to be here
what these people mean to me
and what i mean to them
i can't believe i let so much time go by
when you have people that truly value you
for no other reason than just to spend time with you
it's an unbelievable thing
the doubt, the hesitation, the ridiculousness of all of that
the subsiding, the understanding, the calm
